About
Sometimes you may wish to see the perspective of someone else in Campus Cafe. For example, you may be testing permissions and wish to act as a faculty member. Or you may be troubleshooting why a student can’t generate their transcript and want to see Campus Cafe as them.
To facilitate this, Campus Cafe allows you to impersonate or “act as” another individual.
When you impersonates another user, you have full access to their account and any functionality or permissions that the user has.
...
For example, if you give the Registrar's permission group access to impersonate
...
any user, they could impersonate an
...
individual with more access.
Any action that takes place will be audit logged as the impersonated user; however, the audit log will show a record of when the impersonation starts and ends to verify which actions may have taken place under impersonation.

Impersonation is a powerful function. We recommend customers limit this access and consider implications such as fiduciary separation of duties. If testing as other users is routinely required, contact Campus Cafe Sales to procure a test environment. |
