About ISIRs
The Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) is an electronic federal output document produced by the U.S. Department of Education’s Central Processing System (CPS) from Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) data. The ISIR is sent to schools designated by the student on the FAFSA. It contains the data necessary to package, award and originate federal financial aid.

ISIRs are downloaded using the U.S. Department of Education tool EDconnect, the U.S. Department of Education's (ED's) telecommunications software that enables PC users to send and receive data through the Student Aid Internet Gateway (SAIG). Institutions should work with the Department of Education to establish this connection and configure EDconnect.
