Add, delete and change STParms

Find STParm parameter

To add or change an option to a drop down menu, you’ll need to know the parameter associated with the menu.

You’ll find parameters listed through Campus Cafe’s documentation alongside the relevant drop down.

Alternatively, you can search the parameter descriptions.

  1. Go to Admin > STParm.

  2. In Search enter a description of the menu. For example, if you entered “admissions counselor” you’d see parameter SBCLOR appear.

Alternatively, you can find the parameter if you know the existing options. For example, maybe you’re looking to add an admissions counselor. You see in the existing drop down that Joe Smith is an option.

  1. Go to Admin > STParm.

  2. In Search enter one of the existing options shown in the menu. For example, if you entered “Joe Smith” and he was an existing counselor, you’d see parameter SBCLOR appear.

Add STParm

To add an additional option to a menu, add a new value to the parameter that controls the menu.

  1. Go to Admin > STParm.

  2. In the Parameter Code box enter the Parameter Code. For example, if adding an admissions counselor, enter SBCLOR.

  3. In the Parameter Value enter a value to serve as an internal code that is not typically displayed to students or applicants. For example, if adding admissions counselor Jane Smith, and they will be your sixth counselor, you might enter 6.

  4. Click Add.

    • Description: A short description of the menu item. For example, Jane Smith.

    • Web Hide: Select to suppress the option from showing on an application; the option will show internally.

    • Common App Code or Admissions Counselor ID#: For use in the Common Application upload process. Or the admissions advisor's Campus Cafe ID number.

    • ISO Country Code: The country abbreviation per the International Organization for Standardization. Used by the National Student Clearinghouse report.

    • Long Description: Further text for the menu item.

    • Delete Code: For use by Campus Cafe programming team.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Go to Admin > Refresh Data Cache.

Change STParm

Update the parameter to modify an existing menu option. Note that the Parameter Value may not be updated once the option is created.

  1. Go to Admin > STParm.

  2. In Search enter the Parameter Code or existing menu option value. For example, if you wanted to change the spelling of Rhode Island, you could search for the parameter code XXSTAT or Rhode Island.
