About GPA history

GPA History displays a student's semester and cumulative credit totals and GPA. The information is updated in real time as data that impacts a student's credits or GPA is changed. If you configure it, accessing this page also updates the student’s GPA shown on the student’s profile.

Turn on real-time GPA processing

If your institution calculates a traditional GPA where each class' final grade factors into a academic period and cumulative GPA, we recommend you turn on this feature. If you do, the student’s GPA will update as soon as you go to the GPA History page. When you access the page, the GPA on the student’s profile will also update. If you don’t turn on real-time GPA processing, the GPA updates overnight on GPA history and on the profile.

  1. Go to Admin > Custom Control.

  2. In Search enter GPASTYLE.

  3. Click the pencil.

  4. In Parameter Value 1 ensure that nothing appears. (The value should be empty/blank.)

  5. Click Save.

View GPA history

  1. Go to the student’s profile.

  2. Go to Person Selected > GPA History.

Understanding GPA history

Campus Cafe creates a row for each degree (study) level-semester pair for which the student has an enrollment record.

For example, a student who registered for two semesters as an undergraduate (degree level 1) and one as a graduate student (degree level 2) would have the below rows. The 99 row totals credits and GPA taken across all semesters and degree (study) levels.
