Students may be connected to people who serve as an advisor or counselor to them whether for academic purposes like advising or student services purposes like financial aid. Advisors can be informational and displayed to students and others. The advisor can also be used as part of the process to restrict class registration until advisor approval occurs. Students may have a maximum of four advisors.

To support your institution’s unique business needs, your institution can change the labels for the advisors. For example, your institution may want Advisor 1 to displayed as Academic Advisor and Advisor 2 to be displayed as Athletic Advisor. The labels will change everywhere except the degree audit and transcript, if those are configured to display advisors.

Change label

Change Advisor Label

  1. Go to Admin > Adjustable Text..

  2. In Search enter ADVIS1LABEL (the label for Advisor 1), ADVIS2LABEL (the label for Advisor 2), ADVIS3LABEL (the label for Advisor 3), or ADVIS4LABEL (the label for Advisor 4).

  3. Click the pencil.

  4. In Value box (the large box) enter the label for the advisor.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Go to Admin > Refresh Data Cache.
