About tracking email opens

Campus Cafe lets you send emails using activities/workflows. When you create a workflow that sends an email, you can tell Campus Cafe to record if the recipient opens the email. Campus Cafe provides this feature as part of its platform; you don’t need a separate analytics tool to use it though you do need an email service.

Prerequisites

  • Configure G Suite or Microsoft as an email provider in Campus Cafe.

  • Create a Campus Cafe activity and workflow configured to send an email.

Track email

Campus Cafe monitors only emails you configured to be tracked.

  1. Go to All Users > Workflow Definitions.

  2. In Search enter the name of the workflow that you wish to track opens.

  3. Next to the workflow, click the pencil.

  4. Under Options select Track Views.

  5. Click Save.

View opens

Once you associate an activity containing an email workflow with a person, Campus Cafe sends the email. You can look on a recipient’s profile to see if they opened the message.

  1. Go to the recipient’s profile.

  2. Go to Person Selected > Activity Tracking.

  3. You may need to click Expand Filters and adjust the filters to see the activity you associated with the individual.

  4. In the table at the bottom of the screen, review the Views column. If you don’t see this column, click Column Visibility and select Views.
