About gift purpose

Donations can be associated with a specific purpose. For example, to indicate the donation supports a new basketball arena or music venue.

Required permissions

Configure gift purpose

1. Go to Advancement > Gift Purpose.

2. In the Add Purpose Code enter a short name for the purpose.
   
   

   Open

   

3. Click Submit.

   • Description: Text to characterize the purpose.

   • CC-GL-Fund: The Campus Cafe General Ledger fund associated with gifts for this purpose.

   • Fund: The donation module fund associated with gifts for this purpose.

   • Display Order: A number to represent where in the list of gift purposes the purpose shows on a donation form.

   • Show on Donation Form: Check to indicate purpose should be presented to donors while making a gift.

   • Inactive: Check to hide purpose from drop down menu when recording gifts

4. Click Save.
