Configure Legacy MS Email Relay

Configure Microsoft

Please note that this is a legacy setup for email relay and the information on this page may be out of date including the IP addresses.

We recommend using the Microsoft recommended Authenticated email option: SMTP Authenticated Emailing - Knowledge Base - Campus Cafe (atlassian.net)

The MX record for the domain and port to connect on will be needed. To find your MX record ask your system administrator or use a tool such as MX Toolbox.

  1. Navigate to Admin > Web App Config

  2. Locate the Parameter SMTP_HOST and, for the value, enter azure_ followed by your MX record. This will look something like azure_yourschooldomain-com.mail.protection.outlook.com

  3. Locate the Parameter SMTP_PORT and, for the value, enter 25

  4. Refresh the Data Cache (Admin Menu → Refresh Data Cache)
