Academics: Find Students by Current Academic Program (Major)

Find all students currently enrolled in a specific academic program such as a certificate, minor or major.

You need to communicate with students, assign them academic advisors, register them for classes or report numbers of students and their demographics.

Considerations

  • This filter reports on the student’s current major and assumes they are enrolled in the semester you select.

  • Does it matter if the academic program is the student’s first, second or third academic program? This filter searches all three possible degree programs.

Start with a pre-built filter

This filter updates overnight or when you launch the GPA processor.

This filter shows students currently in the academic program(s) you select. If a student was previously in the selected academic program and now in a different program, they won’t show in your results. For example, if Caroline was an art major but is now a political science major and you search for art majors, Caroline won’t appear in your results.

Use this as a starting point. You can add fields to further narrow students returned.

If you don’t see this filter your institution may have renamed or modified it. You can build it from the example below or open a Campus Cafe support ticket and request it.

  1. Go to Filters > Students.

  2. In All Users select ZCC STUDENTS BY PROGRAM.

  3. Click Filters.

  4. Next to Degree Majors click the three horizontal lines, select one or more academic programs and click Apply. This searches all a student’s current three possible academic programs on the student’s current degree row. If a student was in the selected major in the semester you select in the next step but is no longer in that major, the student won’t appear.

  5. Next to the first Single Semester select the academic period in which the student needs to be enrolled.

  6. In the first Single Semester Credits Taken enter the minimum number of credits a student must be enrolled in. Entering 0 means students your results will include students in zero-credit courses if you have them.

  7. Click Submit.
